My mom is a wonderful cake decorator but unfortunately she couldn't be here to make Josh's cake this year. So I took my hand at it. I actually had A LOT of fun doing it! I made my own icing and decided I had to make my own cake mix to go along with it. I think the end product looks pretty good. Sadly though it did not taste good at all. Here is the proof: last night Yogi (our big black lab) was inside and found the cake on the kitchen counter. I woke up this morning to find the cake box on the floor and the left over cake with it. I was livid. Not because he was a naughty dog and ruined the leftovers, but because even HE didn't like it. Only a bite or two was gone. Kevin swears this dog eats his own poop! Sad... but true. Next year I'll work on making a cake that tastes as good as it looks.
