Boycotting Bottles

Is a twelve week old baby too young to boycott? I'll answer that with a resounding NO! He may not actually know it by its name, or understand the rules that regulate an official boycott, but he sure knows how it works. I'm actually not sure if he is boycotting or just on strike, but one thing we do know is that Joshua does not like his bottle anymore! Starting week 4 we purposely gave Josh one bottle a day to avoid this exact situation. He loved his bottle, and took it willingly from anyone. Then around Christmas time he began to show signs of dislike for the bottle, but we were always able to persuade him (it was either us, or hunger). But starting last week he has gone from mere dislike, to pure hatred of that nasty rubber nipple. We have tried it all: different bottles, different nipple sizes, different feeding times, and different temperatures. The result is always the same: dislike, screaming, spitting, and refusal. Last night our persistent/stubborn (you pick) child went almost 6 hours without eating to prove he could hold out longer than us. He may have won the battle, but believe me, we will win the war!

What a cute picture!!! Good luck on winning the war...I'm sure there will be many more battles to be won (or lost!)

I've just started trying to give Josiah a bottle at 5 months. He's refusing despite our best attempts. I'm a little glad to know that even if I'd started much earlier it's still possible he wouldn't be happy with the bottle! :) Next thing is to try a cup. Hope JP is doing better. Miss you guys-Victoria
