Upon returning to the States we also returned to our previous church family, even though the church is a 40 minute drive from our house. While many faces were familiar, there were also many new people to meet. In the past six months we have had ample opportunities to build relationships with our new church members and are very thankful for them. Being a small church our friendships are not limited to the "Young Married Group", or the "New Parents Group", but rather range in age from the 20's to the 70's. Often I am amazed that such different people in such different places in life can sustain incredible relationships. I realize how strong our bond in Christ must really be. What made me think of this? Well today our dearest and most special friends are returning back to Dubai from their trip home to Goa.

We met the Dias family while attending church in Dubai. Our church was predominantely Filipino and like lone Dias family from India, we were the only family from the US. The friendship actually started between us and Alvo and Bessie who are our parents age. Their deep desire to grow in the Word, and clear passion for Christ took us beyond Church meetings to Bible Study in our home. This led to friendship with their children Danuta and Daniel, who are closer to our age. Evenutally Danuta came to live with us, as our home was much closer to her work. I have never met a family who lived with such faith and hope in Jesus Christ, their true provider and joy. In this bond I believe our friendship grew. And as our bond in Christ grew the Dias family became our family. So welcome home Dias'. We can't wait until one day we can welcome you to America. But as Bessie always reminds me, eventually we will be eternally together in our heavenly home.
