The Many Expressions of Josh

As you can see Josh has many different expressions, and the personality to match! The only face I couldn't get a picture of was his most famous...the pouting lower lip. Once you see that lip coming, be prepared for the wailing to follow! As a 4 month old boy, Josh has many proud accomplishments. He is an excellent drooler, and is able to bring his fist to his mouth with 97% accuracy. He is making many interesting sounds and loves to blow bubbles. He can sit up by himself, although we still have pillows surrounding him for extra insurance. He also has a very strong grip. Nothing makes him happier than seeing Maggie, and nothing makes him more angry than missing a nap. He can roll from his back to his stomach, and his stomach to his back, but only when he is extremely frustrated. He weighs 16 pounds 8 ounces (the 75th percentile) and is 25 inches long (the 50th percentile). We celebrated his 4 month birthday by getting his shots. What a great present, huh?
This leads me to the much more serious part of this post. As you know Kevin switched jobs in January, which means we switched health insurance providers. Currently, we are still covered by his old job but would have to pay an eight hundred deductable if we choose to use it. Now this wouldn't be bad if we had serious hospital bills, but is a little extreme for a baby's 4 month check up and shots. So, I called the doctor to see how much the visit would be if we payed out of pocket. I knew it would be a couple hundred dollars as the last time he had shots, each shot was between $70-$90, and there were 6 shots in all. However, nothing could prepare me for the price I was quoted. Without health insurance the shots were only $5.00 each. Yep, you read correctly. When covered by insurance the SAME shots were on average $80.00 more. It is as though I am being punished for having insurance (at least my insurance company is being punished).
So I guess it is a good thing I followed through on my last post and found out who my congressmen were, because now I actually have something to say to them!
PS: Kay Bailey Hutchinson, John Cornyn, and Kevin Brady. Those are my representatives, who are yours?
